With the sun still keeping us happy we've eschewed the reds in favour of a couple of our most gluggable and affordable summer lighter wines.

R2 tastingFirst up a rosé - because who doesn't love a splash of pink once the summer finally rolls around. A few years ago us Brits caught on that for good blush the best bet was to hit up Provance, and our new-found love of these Southern French delights doesn't seem to be abating. This week we're showing off the

2016 Chateau Saint Pierre Les Secrets de St.Pierre £12.99 per bottle or £10.39 in a mixed case.

A blend of 60% Cinsault and 40% Grenache, Saint-Pierre exudes lovely scents of apricot, spring melons, honey blossom and a hint of creme fraiche. The mouthfeel is viscous and rounded with beautiful spring fruit flavors: white peach, mixed stone fruits, strawberry. Light acidity and minerality keep the wine lively. The finish is resonant, reiterating the sweet fruit flavors for a good length; much like watching the enduring colors of a summer sunset slowly setting in the west, its beauty etched in memory.

Next up, a fantastic 85% organic soft white from Sicily that is Rebecc's tipple of choice once things heat up

2015 Sensale Grillo Bio Sicily £9.99 per bottle or £7.99 in a mixed case.

This is an easy drinking wine, a true quaffer with subtle aromas of citrus blossom with just a slight suggestion of stone fruits.Round and smooth on the palate with flavours of stone fruit and a freshness contributed by citrus blossom flavours.
