2012 Thomas Goss, Maclaren Vale, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the original McLaren Vale pioneers, Thomas Goss (1810-1890), his wife Mary Ann (1813-1891) and their children arrived in South Australia from Devonshire in 1849. After success in the Victorian gold fields, Goss established an iconic farming property, 'Ingleburne' in McLaren Vale, which is now home to some of the region's leading vineyards.
Various vineyard parcels were vinified separately, fermented, pressed and matured in French oak for approximately 16 months prior to blending and bottling.
This wine displays the trademark Cabernet Sauvignon characters; rich and generously loaded with dark berry fruit, cassis and spicy oak on the palate, the finish is long lasting, delicious, dense and fruit-packed. This wine will compliment a wide variety of meal choices, especially red meat or pasta dishes.

2015 Harewood Estate Denmark Chardonnay

This wine has been made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the cool maritime climate of Denmark in the Great Southern wine region of Western Australia. The juice is barrel fermented in a mixture of new and second use French oak 225 litre barriques and larger 500 litre puncheons. Half of the barrels are lees stirred weekly, and allowed to undergo secondary malolactic fermentation, introducing a savoury, rich textural complexity to the finished wine. The wine matures for 11 months on oak before minimal fining and bottling.

A complex, perfumed nose of citrus and fresh nectarines balanced by toasty french oak and a savoury cashew barrel ferment character. A full-bodied, complex palate with stone fruits and honeydew melon leading to a creamier rounded mid palate of peach, vanilla and roasted nuts with a lingering crisp finish of grapefruit and spicy French oak.

£23.99 p/b or £20.39 in a mixed six, £19.19 in a mixed case.
